Mount Hope Cemetery is the last resting place for
many of the great statesmen, military and civic leaders who walked
upon the stage of Maine's history. Here, entombed in classic examples
of the stonecutters' art, are not only the great and prominent who
influenced national affairs and helped shape the destiny of Bangor
as well as the State of Maine, but also those who gave strength
to the colorful legends of the times.

The Year 2000 marks the 166th birthday of Mount Hope Cemetery in Bangor, Maine.
